Bishop Dunia Task Faithful To Shun Acts Inimical To Development
The Catholic Bishop of Auchi Diocese Most Rev. (Dr) Gabriel G. Dunia, has reiterated the need for all to shun any act that is inimical to development and growth, Stressing that seeking leadership in the wrong manner without the direction of God, can lead to high rate of crime and violence in the society.

The Bishop stated this recently while delivering a homily at Holy Name Catholic church, Ikpeshi, during a visit.

The Shepherd of souls who noted that living a holy life and having faith in God and in His purpose for their live was necessary, hinted that those who have faith in God can never be disappointed, hence they should be close to Christ in whom the true knowledge of God resides.

Further, the prelate affirmed that God is the source of true wisdom, as all should endeavor to believe in Him in order to give them a sense of direction and tasked all present to eschewe violence and any act capable of bringing the community to disrepute, stressing that violence does not do any community any good, hence they should embrace peace and continue to promote unity among all. He also tasked them to desist from any activity that would cause a barrier between them and God, while charging faithful to always endeavour to participate in activities in the mass centre and prayed God to grant them peace and unity to enable them promote development in their community.

Appreciating the Bishop for coming to the mass centre, the Rector Rev .Fr. Gregory Onimhawo, commended the Chief shepherd of the Diocese for his effort towards promoting peace and unity in the community, praised the parishioners for attending the celebration and prayed God to continue to bestow the Bishop with wisdom and understanding to enable him shepherd God’s flocks.

The event also featured thanksgiving by parishioners in appreciation to God, as well as the award of scholarship to little Francisca Sylvester by the Bishop.
