Ogbona Holds Diocesan Laity Harvest
The Catholic community of St. John the Baptist Ogbona has recently played host to the Diocesan laity council as they also celebrated their laity harvest in the Church premises.
Delivering the homily at the Eucharistic celebration, Rev. Fr. Isaac Agabi said that God is good who is the owner of all things and charged them to continue to work for God who will make them rich and comfortable in life.
Making reference to the rich man in the Bible, the priest said that the man was greedy and stingy. Fr. Agabi tasked them to always give to support the work of God and stressed that God would reward them accordingly.
Further, he enjoined them to continue to give to others who may need their assistance while encouraging them to develop the habit of giving no matter how small and further admonished them to shine as light to the people around them.
The highpoint of the mass was a thanksgiving processing by the Diocesan laity members to the altar in appreciation to God for His blessing of another harvest.
At the reception, the chairman of the laity harvest planning committee Mr Emmanuel Imhodemhe in his welcome address, thanked the members for the harvest.
On his part, the Diocesan laity council chairman Mr George Umoru thanked the organizers for the successful harvest.
Speaking also, the chairman of the occasion Chief Vita E. Anaweokhai noted that the council should help in the development of the Diocese both materially and physically. Meanwhile the vote of thanks was given by Bro. Christopher Afehomo. In it, he appreciated all present for the successful completion of the laity harvest and prayed God to grant them all journey mercies to their various destinations.
